Washington – On the heels of Sen. Lindsey Graham’s public rebuke of conservative commentator Glenn Beck, scores of Graham’s fellow Republicans have joined in and expressed their distaste for the Fox News star.
“It feels so good to say what we’ve all been thinking for so long,” said House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH). “Glenn Beck is a menace to our party and an unnecessary sideshow distracting us from the real work we need to do.”
“It took real guts for Lindsey be the first to call him out,” said Sen. Sam Brownback (R-KS), “and when I saw that so many of my Republican colleagues were backing him up, I wanted to be the first in line to join them.”
In a scene reminiscent of Joseph Welch’s famous rebuke of Sen. Joe McCarthy in the Army-McCarthy Hearings of 1954, Graham called out Beck, saying that “Only in America can you make that much money crying,” and continued, “Glenn Beck is not aligned with any party. He is aligned with cynicism and there has always been a market for cynics.”
Fox News declined to comment for this story, but rumors have been circulating that Friday’s show would be Beck’s last on the network.
Brad Johnson, an assistant producer at the network who worked on Beck’s show agreed to talk on the record, saying that Friday would be his last day anyway.
“Glenn has no clue that it’s over,” Johnson said, “he’s really in his own world now, and I don’t know, maybe it’s a fun world to be in, but it’s sure not our world. I just saw him up there twenty minutes ago recording some promos for next week, and he was completely oblivious to the fact that not only were the cameras not on, but there was nobody manning them or even in the control room.”
Media watchers have been detailing the flight of advertisers from the show for months, but the latest word is that even his fellow Fox commentator, Bill O’Reilly, has asked that promos for the O’Reilly Factor not be shown during Beck’s show.
“I think the last straw was when they lost the Snuggies account,” said Cheryl Ladson, a freelance market analyst. “The only companies left who are willing to advertise are those who the FCC prohibits from advertising on television, such as Chinese weapons dealers, prostitutes, and Orly Taitz. Actually, I heard a rumor that he had been planning a show for next week that was going to attack the socialist tenancies of the FCC in their regulation of television advertising.”
So far at least 49 Congressional Republicans from both the Senate and the House have issued statements publicly condemning Glenn Beck’s tactics and urging the media to be less sensational and more earnest in their reporting.
Sources are telling us that Rush Limbaugh has yet to decide whether to ask the condemning congressmen to apologize to Beck or if he will allow their rebellious actions to peter out on their own.

I’ll be surprised if Beck gets the boot. There are a couple of million Americans that watch him. That is a very small percentage of America and is definitely is a niche market, a kind of weirdo niche, but he can make money. Oops. I forgot. Nobody is buying ads anymore. No ads, no money. Maybe they will boot him. I never watch him so I won’t miss the show. I tried to watch once, but I’m educated and can think rationally. That made the show a bit too silly for my taste.
I liked Lindsey graham before he did that.
Only those people feel threatened by his show. He evenly puts down democrats and republicans equally. Anyone who watches the show knows that.
I watch Glen Beck every chance I get and I think he is great. Only people who don’t watch the show or feel threatened because of what he reveals on his show (republican and democrats alike).
If any of this is true, then I say it’s about time that the GOP recognizes that they can’t let talk radio extremists run the party. The Republican party is already close to full-on fascism so it’s good to see that they want to be taken seriously as a national party again.

This is one conservative that thinks Lyndsey Ghramnisty stinks. He is a RINO that needs to be put out to pasture. I support Glenn Beck COMPLETELY and watch him everyday.
